VII. THE TOOLS OF THE TRADE

Tools that I used in my class
Puppet: I used gloves to yield some dialogues, this helped students to put attention in class and feel comfortable in the class.
-Safety phrases card: I used phrases card to make a review of the subject that students already know.
-Toys: when we are teaching a subject like furniture house,it is better to use TOYS because you can tell them the name of the furniture and show them that way, it is easier for the student can learn.

 2- Useful tools:
· Puppets
· Paper Dolls
· Cardboard boxes
· Picture Cards
· Card games
· Panels games
· Word Prayers cards
· Display card Word
· Calendar
· Financing Cards
· Murals
· Toys
· Building blocks

All these tools are useful in our environment because they are teaching a foreign language. All these tools can help us to teach, and one of the most important things about it is that these tools are cheaper, and you can make them with materials you have at home. Those type of tools make students feel more interested in class.

3- useless tools:
· Pet Class
· English Corner
· Books / reading cards
· Transparencies
· Clock
· Maps
· Cassettes -
· Recording Cassettes-
-Overhead projector.

These tools are useless in our environment, and we are teaching a foreign language to students at an early age, and if you have a map in your classroom with rivers, streets and things, the students will feel frustrated because they are not going to understand anything, and this happens because they do not have the level to use it.

The first three chapters of my own practice

1- planning their work: children are usually full of energy; if you want students to learn a lesson and enjoy it, you have to plan the type and amount of time needed for each activity. Planning class, you will know what it necessary for each lesson, which make life easier because you already have a plan of what you do in your class. You can make a long-term or short - long-term plan.

Long-term plan: long-term plan will be carried out either before or at the beginning of the term, and you can do that before seeing his students:

· Talk to the parents that if it is possible.

· If you manage a textbook, you have to look through the list of contents and the teacher's guide.

· If you do not use a textbook, decide roughly what you want to cover this period and how long it will take for each item of the unit / subject / language.

Short-term plan: Once you long-term plan is done, then the short-term planning is easier, a short-term plan usually cover three to ten lessons:

· You may be planning lessons on a topic; the lesson plan for a unit in the book or the lesson of the week.

· If you are using textbooks, then much of the work at this stage is for you.

· Decide what items language to be taught.

· Make sure you know how resigned language elements are used.

· Evaluation form part of the teaching, so that you can write in the evaluation of their plan at this stage.

Note · Do not let your short term planning puts too much detail that i is only a rough guide.

2- Classroom management and the environment

We have formed our personality, but there are skills and attitudes which can learn and work.

· Skills: everyone can learn to mime or to act  easily. We can all learn to organize our worksheets that are planned and organized in sight.

· Attitude: respect their students and be realistic about what they can handle ; then your expectations are realistic too.

· As a teacher you have to treat all students equally.

· Atmosphere safe class: you have to know what you are doing. Students need to know what is happening, and they need to feel that you are in charge.

· Respect your students.

· Whenever the pupils are trying to say something, they accepted anywhere you say mistakes too.

· Desktop Fix: sometimes may not be able to change the shape of the tables are arranged in the classroom, and sometimes may have to make an arrangement that you can not change. You may want to arrange the tables in different ways for different classes, but it is much easier if you decide on the most appropriate arrangement for a lesson and stick to it.

· Children Association: it is important to note that not all children will like their partners and group work at a time. In particular, five and six years old are happier working alone, and are not willing to cooperate and share.

· Working in pairs: pair work is a useful and effective way of working in language teaching.

· The students, who are sitting close to each other, work together.

Establish routines for working couple, so that when you say 'now works in pairs', students know what is expected of them.

· Group work: everything that has been said about the pair work is applied to group work.

· We can not put the kids in groups, but you can give them an exercise and assume that it will work.

· If students are not used to working in groups in other classes, or if not naturally develop a group identity, and they can do when he sits on a permanent group, then you can gradually introduce them to work in groups.

3- Oral work: speaking is the teacher who teaches more demanding skill. In their own language, children are able to express emotions, communicate care or reactions, explore the language and make fun of him, so expect to be able to do the same in English.

· Introducing new oral language: when children begin learning English, they obviously have to give the language before he can leave. At this early stage, the activities will be under the control of the teacher.

· The use of puppets: one of the most successful in presenting language to young children is through puppets. Having "someone" constantly familiar in hand with which can have conversations about anything and everything; it is a wonderful way to introduce new themes and new languages. A way to have fun and at the same time they are learning.

VIII. Write an assessment about how useful the TVYL practice is in your way to become an ELT teacher.

In this assessment report we are going to talk about the things that we learned during our teaching practicum and how useful is if you want to become an English teacher.

During our experience teaching young children we can say that at the beginning we were not sure how to teach children. We thought that it could be difficult for us. We did not know how to teach the topics and what kind of activities we had to do in the classroom, but it was not too difficult at all. There were days that we did not want to continue going to the school and teaching the class, but there were day that we enjoyed the classes because we had fun with the students during the class or when we did an activity.By the time we were teaching,  we discovered many activities that students liked doing and at the same time they learned.

The main objective of the teaching practicum is to provide student teachers with authentic experience in teaching. This is required to develop their teaching skills and to start collecting experiences to enrich their professional wisdom. It is not enough to read about teaching or to observe others teach. Another important role of the practicum is to provide a supported entry to the profession, to know how the children’s behavior is and how to act around them.

The TVYL practice was very important for us because nowadays we already know how to teach children. Also, we got an experience that will be very important for our life as future teachers.

IX- HOW USEFUL IS TVYL IN OUR WAY TO BECOME AN ELT TEACHER

Becoming a teacher is something amazing. Teachers have the power to transform not only childrens lives but also parentslives. During this time we had the opportunity to be teachers, and we realized that teachers have a big commitment . This opportunity was only a little piece of what teaching really is, and so far it is clear that teaching to  children is easier than teaching to teenagers or even to adults because children are motivated to learn new things.
Now we know a little bit about teaching to little kids, and we learned a lot from them although we did not spend all the period of class with them. For instance, we must know the things that teaching to very young learners require and if the students enjoy the activity or not. If not they will figure out that we are not well prepared, so we have to take into account the possible problems children could have.
What this means is that we as teachers must know our studentsattitude because they are all different and have different attention sapans. We must take care of them and not only teach a simple class but also prepare them for life.
Besides, this time we spent teaching little kids was very useful because we learned how to prepare the classes and planned the activities we developed, and all the things we saw in classes were useful too. Since the moment we know that being a teacher is being a role model for the students, we have to be their ideal of what being an adult means.
We have to know that even if we are the teachers we do not know everything because we are learners too. Also, we have to keep in mind that even the students that seem like the less interested are those who teach us how our class must be presented in order for them not be bored or less interested.

We have to remember that: The mediocre teacher tells; the good teacher explains; the superior teacher demonstrates, and the great teacher inspires” – William Arthur Ward.

X- SELF ASSESMENT AND EVALUATION OF YOUR OWN LEARNING IN THIS COURSE RECOMENDATION TO BETTER THIS TEACHING TRAINING COURSE

To begging with a self- assessment, the student  Gabriela Gonzàlez Castro considers herself more capable to teach because she has learned many things during this course, like for example , she knows that every class has a teaching procedure , "a plan lesson" , and each part of the lesson will help the teacher develop his or her class, and she thinks that she has earned  more knowledge and experience; however, she  knows that there are plenty of things she has  not learned yet, but we the new things that she discover during the semester , she has a better view of what teaching is. Even though she took this subject during only one semester, she really learned so much. She learned what techniques she should use.
It  also was a beautiful experience for her, so she hopes to continue teaching and learning.
She also learned that the English can be teach in many context, it depends of the purpose why people need to learn English. Likewise, there is a big difference between native and non-native teacher as we have been taught, and their teaching way have pros and cons.
And one recommendation that she would like to make is that she would like that this teaching course will have more practice on the lesson planning and more didactics resources for improving the way of teaching. She also would like to have more examples of situations and how to deal with the decision-making and problems-solution process when giving a class. But at the end she can say that she really enjoyed her  teaching practice experience.
As a evaluation of his own learning, the student Armando Siciliano, thinks that during all the course he is sure that he has learned many different things in Didactic I , he feels more confidence when he is teaching. Also he has found didactic very helpful in the way of teaching. Not only he thinks that he has earned more knowledge about how to apply different activities in order to achieve the goals of a topic, but he also knows that he is more prepared because now he has a different view of how stressful and demanding  the teaching could be .
As a self.assessment, he is sure that he has done a good job during all the  course, he followed the indication that the teacher in charge of the subject suggest , and he also thinks that although the semester has ended, he needs to know more about the teaching process.
As a accommodation he would make is to give more examples of how to use a plan lesson, and more examples about games that you could use in the classroom during the teaching  because that would help a lot is his process of becoming a English teacher.

As a evaluation of her own learning , the student Blanca Bolaños considers that this teaching course has been a grateful course because she  has learned too much from her students and Dactylics course. Also, she has learned how to deal with children’s behavior and to supply in the best way their needs. Planning her classes helps her  to be organized and to spend the time in the best way. She had a great time when teaching, and she had some beautiful experiences and feelings that she had never felt before because she realized that she really wants to be a teacher and that she needs to have  a passionate heart for teaching. With all the theory she has studied and learned  she has understood that a good teacher is not the one who makes the homework for the students; a good teachers is who is able to help them in order to ler more.
As a self-assessment,she feels more capable, she thinks that she is ready to teach in a school.Besides she has followed all the instruction that the teacher has said during the course , in order to learn more about teaching.
One thing she would like to recommend is to have more material resources in order to have more knowledge to teach more.
As a self-assessment, the student Elmer Rodriguez feels more prepared , and feels that he has earned more awareness about teaching because of the things he learned during the Didactic 1
About the evaluation of his own learning he finds the process of teaching and learning as an adventure where he is not only teaching but also learning every time more. For the things that worked well in his classes, he will use them again and improve them, and for the things that did not work, he will not use them anymore.
Obviously, the theory, classes and explanations were very useful for him. He mentioned things that he discovered because there were things like the factors that improved and affected the process of teaching and learning during his  classes, and those were advantages and disadvantages he had. For instance, as an asset, his  pupils already knew little words in English, but as a drawback, they had a very small classroom.
One recommendation he would suggest is to give more feedback about the teaching procedures and the activities that teacher should do when they are teaching to very young learners.

As a self.assessment , the student Natalia Muñoz, is sure that she is capable of teaching to very young children. She has earned more conscious of how classes are .She also feels prepared to apply her learning in classes ,
Of her own learning evaluations, she has learnt many things in this course. For instance, how to teach little kids, how to make a basic lesson plan, how to create a video using powtoon and more. She considers that all those things will help her a lot not only for teaching but also for showing others types of things. Besides, I has many interesting experiences regarding to the opportunity of teaching little kids even it was only a taste of what teaching involves she really likes this experiences. She  used to think that being a teacher is really difficult, but if you really love what you and do what you really love, you will always enjoy every single thing you are doing even though they are difficult or not.
One recommendation she would suggest is to give more details about the learning process, and lessons plans .
